Shelly Hummel, LMFT is licensed by the State of North Carolina and is a member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists. She has over eight years of clinical experience in the field. Mrs. Hummel received her Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Northern Illinois University and her undergraduate degree in Psychology at the University of Iowa. She has been a therapist in a multispecialty psychiatry office, a Christian-based private practice, and for the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Department of Psychiatry. |

| Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFTs) are specialists trained to assess, diagnose, and treat individuals as well as couples and families. Their goal is to achieve more satisfying and productive lifestyles for their clients. In addition, they assist in achieving social, marriage, and family adjustment. The scope of practice also includes relationship counseling including premarital and divorce or separation counseling.
